§ 6:502. Slaughtering building.

  • All animals and poultry slaughtered and/or killed and the meat or meat products sold or offered for sale for human consumption shall be slaughtered or killed in a building which has met the requirements of the director, and no meat or meat products shall be sold from any animal or poultry slaughtered or killed in any building which does not meet these requirements and which is not approved by the director. The director may, from time to time, adopt such reasonable rules and regulations as he may deem necessary for the slaughter or killing of animals or poultry and the buildings in which the same shall be slaughtered or killed, for the purpose of keeping such buildings in a clean, sanitary condition so as to insure the consumer of good, wholesome meat or meat products for human consumption.
