§ 6:202. Powers of board of health.

  • The board of health, when appointed pursuant to the provisions of Act 169 of 1899, as amended, shall have the power, provided they do not conflict with the actions of the council, to pass ordinances for the exclusion and repression of contagious and infectious diseases; for defining and abating nuisance dangerous to the public health; for establishing penalties by fines, and such other duties as may be prescribed by the general laws of the state applicable to municipal boards of health.
