§ 1:21. Numbering of ordinances and resolutions.

  • (a)

    Numbering of ordinances and resolutions, commencing with number one (1) in January, 1951, is approved and required. The council administrator is required to maintain a list showing an abbreviated title of all ordinances and resolutions passed by the council; and immediately upon an ordinance or resolution being adopted by the council, it shall be the duty of the council administrator to assign that ordinance or resolution the next consecutive number not yet assigned.

    (b)

    No number shall be omitted, and no ordinance or resolution shall be assigned the number of another ordinance or resolution.

    (c)

    Ordinances and resolutions introduced or referred to in the minutes by title alone, prior to actual adoption, will be entitled "PROPOSED ORDINANCE" or "PROPOSED RESOLUTION" as the case may be.

    (d)

    Ordinances and resolutions finally adopted shall be entitled "ORDINANCE _____" OR "RESOLUTION _____," as the case may be, showing the consecutive number assigned to that ordinance or resolution.
