§ 10:418. Qualifications for air ambulance permit.

  • In determining whether a permit shall be issued, the city administration through the mayor-president or his/her designee shall give weight and due regard, among other things, to:

    (1)

    The probable permanence and quality of the service offered by the applicant, to include among other things a proof of financial responsibility, experience in the provision of air ambulance services, the past experience of the applicant in payment of judgments, if any, arising out of the operation of such service;

    (2)

    That insurance as required by this chapter has been secured;

    (3)

    That all requirements of the department of EMS as they pertain to medical personnel, equipment, radio communications, and medical and operational protocols have been met;

    (4)

    That all requirements of this chapter and all other applicable laws and ordinances have been complied with.
