§ 9:972. Insurance requirement.

  • As a condition of issuance and continued validity of a teen club license, the licensee shall maintain a broad form of comprehensive public liability insurance policy, issued by an insurance company qualified to do business in Louisiana and rated A or better by Best's Insurance Rating System, or its equivalent, providing coverage of all claims for property damage and personal injury arising in connection with the operation of the teen club, with minimum limits of one million dollars ($1,000,000.00) for any single claim and three million dollars ($3,000,000.00) for any one occurrence, and such policy shall name the city-parish as an additional insured. The policy shall remain in full force and effect so long as any teen dance activities are conducted by the licensee, and the policy shall provide that the city-parish be given at least ten (10) days' written notice prior to its cancellation. If the notice of cancellation is given and another certificate of insurance demonstrating the issuance of a policy meeting all terms and conditions hereof is not furnished prior to the end of the ten-day period, the license shall be revoked. At the request of the alcoholic beverage control office, the licensee shall provide certification of the insurance coverage required by this section.
