§ 9:491. Arborist's license.

  • It shall be unlawful for any person to solicit or engage within the parish or city in the business of servicing trees unless such person shall have first procured a license to do so from the office of the director of finance. This requirement is in addition to any other local licenses, and also in addition to the license required by the Horticulture Commission of the Louisiana Department of Agriculture. All persons holding an arborist's license issued pursuant to the terms of this chapter shall be responsible for the conduct of his employees as well as himself in fulfilling all requirements of this chapter. Any person doing business in violation of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, may be fined two hundred dollars ($200.00) or sentenced to sixty (60) days in jail or both, at the judge's discretion.
