§ 9:490. Definitions.

  • (a)

    Arborist: Any person servicing trees for a fee on established residential or commercial property containing less than acreage other than one working on his own improved property in the parish or in the city, but specifically excluding persons engaged in clearing of rights-of-way for public utilities.

    (b)

    Person: An individual, firm, association, partnership or corporation.

    (c)

    Shrub: A woody plant with more than one (1) stem or trunk at the ground level.

    (d)

    Tree: A woody perennial plant that has a single trunk or stem.

    (e)

    Tree Service: Work performed on shade or ornamental trees, specifically excluding normal pruning of shrubbery, but including tree removal, shade and ornamental tree trimming and cavity work, and the fertilizing of shade and ornamental trees.

    (f)

    Director of Finance: The director of finance of the city-parish or his duly authorized assistants.
