§ 2:133. Public services.

  • (a)

    Any person doing public service work for and in the city-parish shall be permitted to cut any street, sidewalk, curb or neutral ground without the payment of the fee prescribed in section 2:131, provided that a written application be made and a permit for such work be obtained from the department of public works. In lieu of the fee prescribed in section 2:131, the person obtaining the permit shall execute and deliver a bond in favor of the city-parish, in an amount to be fixed, and with sureties to be approved by the director of public works, the bond to be conditioned on the work being completed in a satisfactory manner, with all fills and cuts replaced and repaved, and all costs incurred paid.

    (b)

    All work and repaving done under the provisions of this section shall be subject to all other provisions of this part and shall be constructed to the standards established by the director of public works, and shall be maintained by the person doing the work for a period of five (5) years.
