§ 9:1201. License required.

Latest version.
  • No person may operate a pawnshop business unless the principal owner, firm or corporation has been issued a valid license by the chief of police for the city. A separate license is required for each place of business operated under this chapter. Any person may hold as many licenses to operate pawnshops as he may choose provided that he otherwise comply with the provisions of this chapter as to each license. The license to operate a pawnshop is not transferable, and any change in ownership or business location will necessitate an application for a new license under the provisions of this chapter.
