§ 9:521. Definitions.

  • (a)

    Itinerant or transient gold or silver merchant: Any person, firm, partnership or corporation who does not have a licensed permanent retail location in the parish or city who is in the business of selling or buying of gold and silver merchandise, paraphernalia, ornaments, or anything that contains gold or silver no matter how small the percentage is to other metals, who displays samples, models, goods, wares, paraphernalia, ornaments, etc., in any hotel or motel room, rooming house, store, club, storehouse, house or other place, for the purpose of selling or buying at retail, or securing for the retail sale of such goods where the transaction is between the individual consumer not in the ordinary business of selling or buying gold or silver, and who in connection with such business advertises in the parish or the city using the common media of newspapers, radio, or television.

    (b)

    Director of Finance: The director of finance of the city-parish or his duly authorized assistants.
