§ 8:331. Signs.

  • No electrically illuminated sign shall be erected unless a permit has been issued therefor. The applications for such permit shall contain complete specifications, including ampere rating, proposed location, name of contractor making installation, manufacturer's name and owner's name together with such additional information as may be required to insure compliance with this code. Where a sign is completely enclosed so that disassembly for inspection is not possible, the building official may accept the seal of a certified testing laboratory in lieu thereof. The building official shall certify and maintain a list of testing laboratories which test and rate electrically illuminated signs according to the requirements of this code.
