§ 8:302. License required; permits.

  • (a)

    No person shall install or contract to install electric conductors, dynamos, motors, materials, electrical apparatus, and electric installations, or engage in the business of building, constructing, assembling, installing and repairing of electric light fixtures or contracting to build, construct, assemble, install and repair such light fixtures without having first obtained a license and paid the fees as prescribed by this chapter. The provisions hereof shall not apply to personnel of the city-parish or of the state department of highways engaged in the installation of signal lights, and the maintenance of signal lights, and other incidental electrical work necessary for the proper and safe flow of traffic.

    (b)

    No person shall install, or contract to install electric conductors, dynamos, motors, materials, electrical apparatus, electrical installation, or construct, assemble, install, or repair any electrical light fixture without first obtaining a permit to do the work.
