§ 6:54. Fees for autopsies performed under supervision of coroner.
(a)
The council hereby fixes the fee to be paid for the performance of autopsies by or under the supervision of the coroner in an amount not to exceed fifty dollars ($50.00) for each such autopsy.
(b)
In addition to the fee hereinabove prescribed, the director of finance is authorized to approve and pay invoices submitted by the coroner for the performance of additional laboratory procedures involving spinal fluid, blood and microscopic tissue examinations, where such services are certified to be necessary or unavoidable by the parish coroner. The additional fee to be allowed for such services shall not exceed the sum of fifty dollars ($50.00) and shall be payable out of funds allocated in the budget of the coroner for such purposes.
