§ 6:53. Pit privies.

  • (a)

    Where under any ordinance or regulation of the city-parish, pit privies or pit toilets are allowed for use by the occupants of any building, place of business, residence, apartment, rooming house, hotel, motel, house trailer or any other place in which people live, reside or congregate, all such pit privies or pit toilets shall be constructed, maintained and operated in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 10 (Sewerage and Waste Disposal) of the Sanitary Code for the State of Louisiana, as amended, and including any future amendments thereto, prepared and promulgated by the state board of health; and the whole of such chapter, except such portions as are deleted, modified or amended by other provisions of this section or other ordinances of the city-parish, is hereby adopted by the city-parish and incorporated as fully as though set out at length herein; and the council administrator is directed to maintain not less than three (3) copies of such Chapter 10 on file in his office.

    (b)

    Any person who violates the provisions of this section shall, upon conviction thereof, be fined not more than two hundred dollars ($200.00) or imprisoned for not more than twenty (20) days, or both, at the discretion of the court.
