§ 2:309. Violation and penalties.

  • (a)

    It shall be prohibited for anyone to create an opening into the sanitary sewer system that will allow the flow of surface water into said system, and any such opening is declared to be a nuisance detrimental to the public health and safety and as such, a misdemeanor, punishable as provided in subsection (b).

    (b)

    Anyone who creates such an opening shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) for domestic users and one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) for nondomestic users or imprisonment for not more than thirty (30) days, or both, at the discretion of the court.
