§ 2:86. City-parish Adopt-A-Spot Program.
(a)
In order to promote litter prevention and control, there is hereby created a City of Baton Rouge and Parish of East Baton Rouge "Adopt-A-Spot Program." The program shall be under the control of the office of landscape and forestry, City of Baton Rouge, Parish of East Baton Rouge.
(b)
The office of landscape and forestry shall be authorized to enter into agreements with business or civic organizations whereby such organizations may adopt a section of a public roadway or intersection owned by or maintained by the City of Baton Rouge for the sole purpose of controlling litter along that section of roadway or intersection.
(c)
Any such agreement shall require that the business or civic organization adopt a minimum of one block of roadway or one entire intersection. Adoption shall be for a period of two (2) years which may be renewable and will require that the roadway or intersection be cleaned at least six (6) times per year.
(d)
The department of public works for the City of Baton Rouge and Parish of East Baton Rouge is hereby authorized to fabricate signs identifying those organizations participating in the program. The department of public works shall determine where these signs may be placed.
