§ 2:2. Official street and road maps designated.

  • (a)

    The 1959 edition of the E.R. Nilson Street Map of the City of Baton Rouge and its Suburban Area is hereby declared and accepted and designated as the official street map of the city and its suburban area. The names and locations of all streets, parkways, boulevards, alleys and other public ways indicated on the map shall be deemed prima facie correct, and accepted as such by all courts, by all public officers and offices, boards and agencies. However, the acceptance and designation of the map as the official street map of the city shall in no wise constitute an acceptance of any street by the city not approved by the planning commission, nor the dedication of any street where such street has not been formally dedicated by the owner of the property composing such street, and the following proviso shall be shown on the map: "Streets shown do not necessarily mean that they are dedicated to public use."     (b)

    The official road map prepared by the department of public works, dated November 20, 1951, and approved by L.J. Muse, director of public works, is hereby received and designated as the Official Parish Road Map, showing roads within the rural area of the parish accepted for repair and maintenance purposes. The list showing the names of the parish roads, and their designation by number, is made a part hereof and is on file in the office of the council administrator and the names and locations of all roads and other public ways indicated on the parish road map shall be deemed prima facie correct and accepted as such by all courts, by all public officers and offices, boards and agencies.
