§ 1:710. Sale or lease of surplus equipment or property.

  • (a)

    Surplus movable property owned by the city-parish, including materials, supplies and equipment, shall be sold to the highest bidder at public auction or to the highest bidder submitting a sealed bid or quotation after public advertisement, in accordance with regulations established by the purchasing agent according to law.

    (b)

    Surplus electronic devices may be transferred to certain nonprofit entities in accordance with the provisions of R.S. 49:125.1, as amended.

    (c)

    Sale or lease of public buildings or immovable property owned by the city-parish shall be made only pursuant to a resolution by the metropolitan council authorizing the mayor-president to execute the sale or lease after public advertisement and according to law.
