§ 1:706. Exclusions.
(a)
Utility services, such as water, gas and lights, and services rendered in connection with installation and maintenance of equipment such as fire hydrants, streetlights, and traffic signal lights provided under standard rate arrangements or contracts with local utility companies.
(b)
The purchase of books, magazines, and other similar copyrighted printed material.
(c)
The purchase of library collection materials for the East Baton Rouge Parish Library System, including, but not limited to, books, periodicals, newspapers, films, prerecorded video and audio cassettes, tapes, artworks or other specialized formats for library resources.
(d)
Use of Louisiana authorized dealers. "Louisiana authorized dealer" means a company that satisfies the requirements of a resident business as defined in R.S. 39:1556(47), and is authorized by the manufacturer to sell and/or provide service for their products.
(1)
Repair parts for equipment obtained from a Louisiana authorized dealer may be used if available. This provision does not apply to the stocking of parts;
(2)
Equipment repairs obtained from a Louisiana authorized dealer may be used if available;
(3)
Vehicle repairs not covered by a competitive contract or the city fleet maintenance repair contract obtained from a Louisiana authorized dealer may be used if available.
