§ 15:334. Umbrellas, canopies and awnings.

Overhead weather protection devices, such as table umbrellas, canopies or awnings, shall be permitted in conjunction with sidewalk cafés. Such devices shall not extend beyond the boundaries of the sidewalk café permit area as established in the permit, as follows:

(1)

Weather protection devices shall conform to the design and construction standards set forth in the city-parish building code, and shall be permitted and inspected periodically by the department of development.

(2)

Individual table umbrellas supported by the particular table each umbrella protects shall be permitted.

(3)

Overhead canopies, fixed or retractable and attached to the building wall but not supported from the ground in any way, shall be permitted and inspected by the department of development.
