§ 13:215.1. Conduct within courtroom designated areas.

  • (a)

    These rules and regulations apply to all courtroom designated areas under the charge and control of the city-parish government, and to all persons entering or upon such property. These designated areas shall include the city court facility, and floors 6, 7, 8 and 9 of the East Baton Rouge Parish Governmental Building. Each senior judge shall be responsible for the observance of these rules and regulations.

    (b)

    Packages, briefcases, and other containers brought into, while on, or being removed from the designated areas are subject to inspection. A full search of a person may accompany an arrest.

    (c)

    No person entering or while in the designated areas shall carry or possess firearms, other dangerous or deadly weapons, explosives, or items intended to be used to fabricate an explosive or incendiary device, either openly or concealed, except for official and authorized purposes.

    (d)

    Whoever is found guilty of a violation of this section shall be fined not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) or imprisoned in the jail for not more than six (6) months, or both.
