§ 13:1063. Closing hours for entertainment establishments.

  • (a)

    "Entertainment establishments" shall be prohibited from remaining open for business between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. Monday through Saturday, and 12:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. on Sunday.

    (b)

    "Entertainment establishments" means and includes, but shall not be limited to, any establishment which has for its primary purpose entertainment, teen clubs, dance clubs, and/or establishments which feature the playing of music. If the establishment requires the payment of a flat fee for entry or the provision of food or services, contains an area for dancing, or features the playing of music, it shall be considered an "entertainment establishment, regardless of whether it derives the majority of its revenue from the sale of food. The provisions of this part shall not apply to revierboats licensed under the provisions of La.R.S. 27:70 et seq.

    (c)

    Anyone who violates the provisions of this section shall be subjected to a fine of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) or imprisonment of up to six (6) months, or both, for each day of violation.
