§ 13:106. Operation of watercraft in no-wake zones.

  • (a)

    No person shall operate a motorboat, motor vessel or recreational watercraft on waterways of this parish in such manner or at such a rate of speed as to create a hazardous wake or wash where appropriate signs giving notice thereof are erected. In any location where a sign has been erected reading "Idle-No Wake" or "No-Wake Zone" or language with the same or similar meaning, the maximum speed limit shall be five (5) miles per hour.

    (b)

    Hazardous wake means any movement of the water created by a recreational motorboat, motor vessel or other watercraft underway where the movement is executed in such a manner as to endanger the life, limb, or property of any person.
