§ 11:14. Officials' coordinating safety committee, its powers and duties.
(a)
There is hereby established an "officials' coordinating safety committee" composed of the following public officials: the mayor-president, the mayor-pro tempore or a member of the council designated by him, the city court judges, the chief of police, the inspector of the traffic division, the director of public works, the traffic engineer, and the parish attorney.
(b)
The mayor-president shall serve as chairman of the committee. The committee may designate such other officers as it deems necessary for proper operation and shall hold regular meetings not less than once a month.
(c)
The committee shall coordinate and reinforce the individual activities of the official agencies and collectively develop the official traffic safety program; and shall utilize the services and support of the appropriate citizens' safety organizations for improvement of traffic safety and relief of traffic congestion.
