§ 11:359. Drivers of all vehicles to obey stop signs and yield-right-of-way signs; evidence.

  • (a)

    Stop signs. When stop signs are erected as herein authorized at or near the entrance to any intersection, every driver of a vehicle shall bring his vehicle to a complete stop before entering the intersection.

    (b)

    Yield-right-of-way signs. When yield-right-of-way signs are erected as herein authorized at or near the entrance to any intersection, every driver of a vehicle approaching the "yield" sign shall slow to a speed of not more than ten (10) miles per hour and "yield" the right-of-way to all vehicles approaching from the right or left on the intersecting street which are so close as to constitute an immediate hazard.

    (c)

    Evidence. If a driver is involved in a collision at an intersection or interferes with the movement of other vehicles after driving past a "yield" sign, such collision or interference shall be deemed prima facie evidence of the driver's failure to yield right-of-way.
