§ 11:301. Forms and records of traffic citations and arrests.
(a)
The director of finance shall provide traffic citation forms for notifying alleged violators to appear in court and answer to charges of violating traffic laws and ordinances of this city. Citation for violators of traffic laws and ordinances shall be in books including serially numbered sets in quadruplicate, which citations shall be in the form prescribed and approved jointly by the parish attorney, the judge and the chief of police.
(b)
The director of finance shall issue such books of citation to the chief of police or his duly authorized agent and shall maintain a record of every such book so issued, and shall require a receipt for the same.
(c)
The chief of police shall be responsible for the issuance of such books of citations to individual members of the police department and shall require a written receipt for every book of citation so issued, and shall maintain a record of each set of citations so issued.
