§ 10:402. Owner's or operator's license required; private ambulance.

  • (a)

    No owner or operator of an ambulance operating in the parish shall permit it to be used or operated upon the streets of the parish without first obtaining a permit therefore from the city-parish administration.

    (b)

    No ambulance may respond to any emergency originating within the parish or any non-emergency call with origin within the parish unless the ambulance operator has a valid and current permit to operate in the parish.

    (c)

    All ambulances with a valid and current permit to operate in the parish shall, in the prehospital environment, operate pursuant to rules and regulations promulgated by the department of EMS.
